Stages of Lanshan 101BW
1st Stage: Sediment Filter
Sediment filters remove suspended matter such as sand, silt, loose scale, clay, or organic material from the water. Untreated water passes through a filter medium, which traps suspended matter on the surface or within the filter.
2nd Stage: Granular Activated Carbon Filter(GAC)
Granular Activated Carbon. Activated carbon is commonly used to adsorb natural organic compounds, taste and odor compounds, and synthetic organic chemicals in drinking water treatment. Adsorption is both the physical and chemical process of accumulating a substance at the interface between liquid and solids phases.
3rd Stage: Activated Block Carbon Filter (CTO)
CTO is an acronym for Chlorine, Taste, and Odor (CTO) filters typically use carbon that has been modified or activated in order to increase the surface area and have smaller pores, averaging 10 microns in size. Carbon Filter with Activated carbon to remove chlorine and/or chlorinates and condition the water prior to the reverse osmosis membrane – also protects RO membrane.
4th Stage: Membrane filter
Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a water treatment process that removes contaminants from water by using pressure to force water molecules through a semipermeable membrane. During this process, the contaminants are filtered out and flushed away, leaving clean, delicious drinking water.
How long do RO membranes last?
How long will a reverse osmosis unit last? Virtually forever if you service it regularly and replace parts that wear out, like the storage tank and the faucet. Typical membrane life is about 2 to 5 years, depending on the nature of the water that it's processing.
5th Stage: Inline Activated Carbon Water Filter
This is the last step in the system. Its purpose is to provide further purification of the water, a process known as ‘polishing’. Water passes through the stage only when the faucet of the pressurized tank is opened. This filter then provides quality improvement services to the water, by removing any color, taste or odor that might have been left behind.
